Group Info

Mandala (मण्डल) is a Sanskrit word that means "circle". In the Hindu and Buddhist religious traditions, their sacred art often takes a mandala form. They have also been found throughout history in christianity and in Native American cultures. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of aspirants and adepts, as a spiritual teaching tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation and trance induction. In short, they're awesome. Anyways, this group is dedicated to Mandala makers and Mandala lovers. JOIN IT!!!!

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you that I (Mandala-Jim) have set up a new group for Hand Drawn Mandalas.

We wanted a group that only allowed Hand Drawn (ie. Pencil, Paint, Crayon, Marker, etc)

However, we don't mind how it's coloured (Gimp, Photoshop, however you want)

Please pay us a visit..

It's totallly complimentary to this fine group :D

A few basic rules.

Hello Mandalamazing people!

For you to have some guidelines for submitting to the right folder, here they are!

Traditional Mandala's:
- Basically they focus on one point in the middle.
- They can have any form so are not limited to rounds.

Mandala Inspired:
- They look like mandala's, but don't have the typical focus point in the middle.
- They often have no focus point or a non-symetric point as a focus.

Fractal Mandalas:
- Mandala's made with a fractal program.

When you can't decide where to put your mandala, feel free to put it in the Featured Folder and we'll make sure it will be put in the right folder asap.

When you have questions...ask away :D.

Thanks for being Mandalamazing!

Yours Truly,
-The Mandalamazing Crew-

Hello~ if it wouldn't trouble this fine and creative if a deviant like myself could ask a simple question. Gods and goddesses with multiple hands. What does it symbolize and how is it viewed?

I first thought it was a symbol of reincarnations but I was incorrect. Pardon my grammar, I'm not very focused today.
